moly_x_portrait entry

I finally finished one of my entries…

(grahite pencil, aprox. 8″x11″ on moleskine sketchbook)

This is for a international moleskine exchange, where each of us draws a self-portrait,  then sends it to the next person, and they draw themselves and the person whose book they have.

Inspired by Sara’s picture in the woods, I drew her, and myself [...]

Another one of the bird series.

love this art video

I aspire to do draw on video like this one day.
For now, lets just say, it’s inspiring me, and I hope it inspires you. Not only because it’s art on video, but because of it’s message

First seen on superhero designs’ blog. She makes incredible jewelry, and I hope to buy something someday.
What’s inspiring [...]

Phoenix’s king congo

Phoenix is constantly amazing me with his drawing skills. He drew this a couple weeks ago. It was inspired by Ed Emberley’s drawing book of Weirdos, which I got for him from the 5 below as a treat. I think he’s gonna need his own art blog very soon!

edm challenge #4

Draw a mug or cup
Here’s my drawing.
It’s nice to do a small journal next to the drawing. It adds interest to the page and makes it a more memorable event.

EDM Challenge #3

Draw a bag, wallet or purse

This is a bag which Erin made for me.  If you’re in the market for a unique bag, she’s the one to talk to.

I need a new one, in fact, because this one’s life, unfortunately has run it’s course, after being designed and made just for me.  I’ve had it [...]

everyday matters in 2009

I think I’ve discovered that I’m my own worst enemy. I’m far too scatter-brained and unfocused in my artistic efforts, to accomplish those things which I’d like to accomplish with my art the most.
I have come to realize that I need some very specific and attainable tasks/goals and schedules, in order to keep me [...]

how to make a journal of your life

I’ve been reading a tiny book with that title, by Danny Price.

I’d been wanting it for some time, and I finally got it last week.   There’s not much to read.  It’s lots of sketchy drawings which the artist drew over the course of years, I’m guessing, and put them in the book, along with tips [...]

30 places – a hotel room

Making quick sketches seems to be no problem.  I am able to sketch just about anywhere, and make quick work of it, if I choose.

Yesterday, we went and met my parents in Stroudsburg for a late lunch, while they were on a weekend getaway from New York City.  Afterwards, we went and hung out in [...]

30 Places – Graffiti(one of my favorite places)

There’s not much to tell here.

We were in New York for the weekend, and while there, I took the opportunity to sketch and add to my 30 places project.

Graffiti is, hands down, one of my favorite places, and it’s always wonderful to be there, but it makes me miss it more when we leave.

It worked [...]
