I decided, sometime in the last couple weeks, that I was spending too much time online, and that was one reason I was not doing art, like I should be. So I devised a plan, to “fast” from the internet, unless it’s directly related to my art, and basic communication. What I mean is, I will [...] Yesterday we had the earliest snow I can remember in my lifetime here in the US. October 28, 2008. Does this seem too early for anyone else? I know, if you’re in Minnesota, North Dakota, or in Canada, you think I’m just whining. And maybe I am, but in this part of the country, or more specifically, [...] It was so great to see friends this weekend. We joined Graffiti folks at Tuscarora for a first ever, 2-day retreat weekend at Tuscarora. An old favorite retreat center we used to go to many years ago. It was also bittersweet, as we had to say goodbye. One of the highlights of the weekend was when I [...] There’s something about fresh bread that is just intoxicating. Even more so, is making fresh bread yourself. And then, if you can turn out a loaf that rivals the bakery, then you’re really in for a trip! About a month ago, I was reading about nearby farm, and a blog associated with it. The people writing the [...] I have one with the internet. It’s great! It keeps me in touch with people I know from all over the globe. I can chat with a girl from Indonesia if I want to, and I can write an email to my husband, even when he’s next to me. I can find out all kinds of information, [...] yes, one of the best things so far, about our neighborhood… I can get milk from a farm that is about 2 miles away. Yeah, in the glass bottles and everything! I paid the deposit and the price of the milk today, but after today, I will just be bringing back the bottles, and getting fresh [...] I have so much to write about, but I’m too busy to write. We’ve moved in and the kitchen is almost all unpacked. Only spices and cookbooks to unpack. I forgot a bunch of pots inside my cabinet in New York, so I have to get some new ones, and cooking has been a bit challenging. [...] the boys and I have been surviving without an air conditioner. We have not had the pleasure of putting our window unit in, because there’s just too much going on. That’s also true of the mini van, which needs a booster of that special air stuff. I bought it right before the super high temps weekend [...] If you know me well, you probably know that I don’t drink enough water. As a matter of fact, I probably don’t drink enough liquids, period. Well, I’ve made a personal pledge to change that. This month, actually I started yesterday, July 6th, will be a month of drinking only water, and my morning coffee with less [...] A few years ago, a friend’s birthday party was a costume party, and Fabio and I dressed up as Bonnie and Clyde. It was a lot of fun, and I think our costumes really worked. There are also some other famous couples , such as Romeo and Juliet, Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, Fred Astaire [...] |
