When the kids are little, a large part of the time is spent teaching new things, or celebrating milestones accomplished. Although I make it a point to rejoice in those things, often my memory is such that soon after, I might forget the details within the event. On Sunday, Phoenix tied his shoes by himself for the [...] Phoenix is 5. Sometimes, he says the funniest things. Today, we were eating at a newly found “real” Chinese restaurant(hardly any Americans were there- except for the ones who were having a party for parents of Chinese-adopted children). Phoenix is constantly amazing me with his drawing skills. He drew this a couple weeks ago. It was inspired by Ed Emberley’s drawing book of Weirdos, which I got for him from the 5 below as a treat. I think he’s gonna need his own art blog very soon! This morning, Phoenix and I had a short morning at home ’til it was time to pick up Patti, my mother-in-law, from the train station. A few minutes at home for lunch, and then it was off to drop off Phoenix at Kindergarten. Then I gave a try at exercising at Curves with my friend, Sue. I liked [...] Well, he won’t win any prizes for his reading ability yet, but I want to put a marker down and announce it to the world. He’s been close for a few months now, but today, for the first time, he picked up a book– “Look, I can read” and started sounding out and reading the [...] Let me present to you, and artist I love. He is up and coming, and I can’t wait to see what else he’ll produce. He’s young and energetic, and keeps everyone guessing… The one and only, PHOENIX LORENZ MIR Here’s what he created this morning, in front of my very eyes… (click on drawing to see large version) and if you’re [...] I gave birth to another wonderful boy named Phoenix. He came 3 weeks early, and he was still huge, weighing in at 8lbs. 14 oz. He was a strong baby, who at 9 months could push his booster seat table off, and push his chair back and forth so strongly to the point of pushing it [...] Every friday, Phoenix gets homework. If you know our family, or if you’ve been around us, you might have seen it, or heard me talk of Phoenix’ strong will. You also probably read about Christmas Eve. The way things tend to go to a real showdown, is whenever Phoenix doesn’t get his way. This could mean anything from us [...] Phoenix had his first “official” day at Rainbow today. |
