family mangatar

After I made mine, the boys wanted to make their own.
They dictated the choices, I clicked.
I made Fabio’s while he slept.
Here’s what we came up with…

What to make one? Go make it here.

I finally got over my cold

30 places – a hotel room

Making quick sketches seems to be no problem.  I am able to sketch just about anywhere, and make quick work of it, if I choose.

Yesterday, we went and met my parents in Stroudsburg for a late lunch, while they were on a weekend getaway from New York City.  Afterwards, we went and hung out in [...]

thanksgiving highlights

After cooking most of the days, over the course of 3 days, thanksgiving dinner went on without a hitch.

The only thing I’d planned to do and didn’t make, was the pumpkin pie. I ran out of time, and figured one pie was enough for 6 of us.
We had the turkey, 5 sides, [...]

Our thanksgiving plans

So, we were going to have a New York friend out for Thanksgiving, and we had thought of inviting other friends who might be otherwise without plans of home or family.  Most friends had other plans, so we were back to Jill, and then we added on Fabio’s mom and brother to the list.

Soon after, [...]

playing like good boys should

Wow! What a morning! A super good one!
Yes, today was what all mornings should be like. One without fights. One with lots of playing. Lots of role games, lots of imagination. Lots of good loving from brothers who are close in age and understand each other.

I woke up hearing [...]

a day full of surprises

My birthday was full of surprises,  just the way I like it!

Fabio took the day off work, so we could spend it together.  After we dropped off Phoenix at school,  Fabio took me to a place we’ve never been to before, called Tom’s Restaurant.  It’s been there since 1936.  It’s in Brooklyn, but it felt [...]

Trouble at Christmas

It’s hard to get a hold on to the mix of emotions one has at Christmas Eve. There’s expectancy, and excitement. The celebration and advent of Christ’s birth. Also, the expectations of giving gifts and receiving them as well. There’s longing sometimes, when you might not be with the ones you [...]

gerbils abound

Has anyone ever tried to get a gerbil in New York? We have. It’s been over a year since we’d wanted to get a gerbil for Willik. Actually, we thought we’d get 2, to appease each of the boys. But who says we can find 2. Most pet stores I’d [...]

the end of an era

If you can call 2 weeks an era, then ours has come to an end. We are about to head back to New York today. We’ve had 2 weeks of true relaxation, with some family time mixed in.
Our first week was strictly mircats, chilling, and doing an occasional outing in Western North Carolina. [...]
