GLAU′CIA or GLAUKIA
I came across some of these descriptions the other day. Most of which I knew because I had a teacher in High School who was intent on finding the meaning of my name. He had a huge dictionary in his classroom, which ended up being the source for some of the knowledge which you can read about at the above link.
What I did discover was a barcode for my name as well…
Who knew there was such a thing…
I love my name. I never thought much about it when I was in Brasil, but I liked it even more once I was in America, because no one had the name. It really was even more unique. To this day, I still have only met one Gláucia and she was an older lady from Brasil. As a matter of fact, that is why I was able to get my gmail address glaucia [at] gmail [dot] com so easily!
Of course, I had a hard time in school, when no one could pronounce my name, and by enlarge, I still do. It’s always a bit of a puzzle for people. But I enjoy getting to teach people how to say my name.
The only misleading part is that the blue-gray significance in the prefix of my name has nothing to do with me. I don’t have blue or gray eyes even. But I can live with that.
Anybody find any interesting facts about their name, lately?
