interruptions to the schedule

I have a very spontaneous-type personality.
For that reason, more than ever, realize the advantages of having a schedule.
That is the only way I find myself accomplishing the things I want and need to do.
But what do I do when interruptions to the schedule happen so much that it completely obliterates the schedule?
This past week has been one of the weeks.
Monday started off bad because I didn’t wake up on time, and Willik missed the bus and I had to drive him to school.
Maybe that’s why everything else this week never fell into place.
The boys had 2 days off school in a row. One because of snow, the other, a previously scheduled day of staff in-service but no kids.
What’s a mom to accomplish, other than keeping the boys at bay without too many fights, and maybe a couple tasks done?
Because of this, a whole week without art…
That is the casualty which happens most often when my schedule goes up in flames.
The thing I’d most like to do gets away from me.
For this reason, drawing this man at the diner tonight, seemed like such a welcome respite to the week.

I was still with Fabio and the boys, having the regular interruptions known to parents of young kids, but it felt wonderful to put pen to paper and just sketch.
Oh, the bliss of doing something we love…..
