Making quick sketches seems to be no problem. I am able to sketch just about anywhere, and make quick work of it, if I choose. Yesterday, we went and met my parents in Stroudsburg for a late lunch, while they were on a weekend getaway from New York City. Afterwards, we went and hung out in [...] Fabio is so close to being done with school. He is taking his last 2 classes, and then he needs to do 2 quick write-ups to get a couple other credits, and it’s bachelor’s degree, here we come. We’re so excited for the new year with no homework. Meanwhile, for the past several months, he parks [...] There’s not much to tell here. We were in New York for the weekend, and while there, I took the opportunity to sketch and add to my 30 places project. Graffiti is, hands down, one of my favorite places, and it’s always wonderful to be there, but it makes me miss it more when we leave. It worked [...] The entry from a few weeks ago, where you were to guess what place it might be. Here it is. It’s inspired by a picture I took when I was on a mission trip to Indonesia, 2 years ago. It was a year after the tsunami, and this was one of the places affected. There used to be [...] This was one way to catch up on my 30 Places. I drew it while we were at the diner, but we were in a booth at the back by a wall, so there wasn’t much to look at. So instead, I drew my plate (place) setting, even though I didn’t have a place yet. It was a [...] Watching birds in our backyard, has become one of my favorite activities. We’ve been using the binoculars which abuelo gave us last Christmas, and the boys are enjoying this as well. Even though temperatures have dropped dramatically in the last few days, we can still watch them from our kitchen’s bay window. It’s awesome! This is [...] My internet fast, as it were is not a complete fast, as much as a winnowing of too much time spent. I have not gone on facebook or spent time surfing. I have posted to my blog, read comments, read/written emails, followed a few art-related links, and mostly just saved them to my bookmarks. I have posted [...] I’m working on another piece. I had hoped to finish last night, and now I’m hoping to finish it tonight. I am, however, experimenting, and using my awesome new easel, so, those things are great things.
