Yesterday, Fabio had the writer’s guild meeting. Although I’m thrilled he has this space to share with other fellow writers, it is always a challenge figuring out what to do with the boys for 1.5 to 2 hours. Driving is not an option, because finding parking elsewhere is unlikely, and I can’t sit in the [...] My birthday was full of surprises, just the way I like it! Fabio took the day off work, so we could spend it together. After we dropped off Phoenix at school, Fabio took me to a place we’ve never been to before, called Tom’s Restaurant. It’s been there since 1936. It’s in Brooklyn, but it felt [...] I just got the best gift from Fabio. He gave me a macro lens for my camera. I’d been wanting one, and I was trying to see if the rest of the family would pitch in and give me some cash toward it so I could buy one, but he went one over, and got me [...] Yeah! A new, very good progress has been made on our home search. We have a buyer’s agent to help us navigate the process of buying a home. A couple months ago, we were first recommended an agent, James Yoakum. James was great, but he dealt mostly in Philadelphia, and only occasionally with [...] This weekend was a whirlwind of driving around all over Bucks County, trying to find areas we like. It was also our belated anniversary celebration. The driving around was productive. We got a sense of things we like and don’t like in a neighborhood. It helped us see distances “for real” versus google maps calculations. [...] I have a friend who is interested in buying one or more of my little city scenes. Isn’t that exciting?! I’m feeling sick as a dog today, with a crazy cold, but that makes me want to get better even quicker, cause I got to get back to work on my city drawings again. I’ve got one almost [...] I love Keith Green. I love his music. The first time I ever heard it, I was a teenager. It was so earnest. It makes you wake up and think about your life. I read his book while in my twenties, and it really challenged my faith. It made me uncomfortable and it made me eager. [...] Okay, so our shopping for homes so far has only been over the internet. As of this past weekend, I actually decided that I no longer want to search for homes online til we’ve had a chance to drive around these areas, and see what the areas look like and what the towns have to offer. But [...] This move will mean many changes for the family. Most of which I’m thrilled with, some of which I am sad over. Many which I can’t even fathom yet. So, I hope to record as much of this moving process as I can. |
